There may have been few mistakes in the new EPICs now being distributed. In some cases, EROs are getting these corrected informally using the vendors of WTL. For the remaining cases, WTL will place at least one person-unit per subdivision (outside Kolkata) during the period 11to20 Dec 2007 to correct only the new-format EPICs.
In the 44 Urban ACs around Kolkata, there will be one person-unit per AC for taking care of such corrections for new-format EPICs. Within this set, in a subset consisting of Alipore and Kabitirtha ACs, there will be four correcting persons/units in both ACs.
DEOs/EROs may please, however, keep proper account of Holograms. "Corrections" mean rectification of WTL vendors' mistakes. See 001B/001C forms as filled up by electors.
Please note that correction of old-format EPICs (due to change in address etc) will continue to be done at PECs during Dec 2007.

It is found that in some cases although correct error-free EPIC is generated for an elector but his / her photograph is either wrong on photo-roll or not at all printed. Whether it will be possible to retrieve the correct photograph for finally published Roll or the elector will have to be photographed again. Again, if the elector will have to be photographed again whether another fresh EPIC will have to be generated or not.
Next point is whether it will be possible to generate pre-printed 001C for non-image / non-EPIC electors and fresh electors for upcoming photography programme starting from 1st February, 2008.

If an elector wants details about address(including house no,road,para etc)in addition to present section address on the back side of EPIC -will he be allowed to do so in PEC?

If any Elector(with old EPIC) turns out at the PEC and wants a new EPIC with DOB, will the same be allowed by charging Rs 25/-. If yes,then whether the new EPIC will be treated as a duplicate EPIC or a corrected EPIC.

Will you pl. clarify, why fresh image is reqd. to be captured or scanned from 001C, in the PECs, for electors having correct image in the photo-roll? Why can't it be taken out from the existing image database using 'cut & paste' method? In an earlier reply in your BLOG dtd. 14/9/07, you said that E.Rolls of the State will be transformed to ORACLE RDBMS this yr. for keeping text data & picture data virtually together & retrieval of existing images will be possible then.
So, why fresh photograph of correct image holders in the Roll, this yr. too, is reqd. to be taken?

Some electors who have lost their EPICs are turning up at the PEC for getting duplicate ones but as per DOB documents being produced by them the age is found to be different from what is in the Roll. Can duplicate EPICs be given to them as per DOB in the document, considering the fact that the correction will not feature in the supplement of 2008.

No correspondence has been received till date on the programme of correction of New EPIC. However the same was known through your blogsite which was circultated to all EROs.
Clarification sought:
1. what would be the application form for correction of the entries in the New EPIC, if any
2. In general, entries in the EPIC have been prepared on the basis of the entries in the voterlist.Whether during this progr. of 11 to 20th DEC.entries would also be corrected in the voter list?
3.The voter list is in vernacular and there is reference of the age of the voter while in the EPIC ,it is bilingual and there is reference of D.o.B.If correction of voter list is not posssible during the above said programme,can corrections ,if any, in English entry and D.O.B. be entertained?

1. A plain paper, signed, application would do.
2.Normally no. That is, voter list corrections would normally require Form 8A and subsequent manuscripts. And last date of lodging Form 8 is over...However, unless the differences are major, we may agree to EPIC corrections provided the correct facts were given in the original Form 001B. You therefore have to countercheck the correction claims with the originally-furnished Form 001B.
