Vide its notification no. 23/WB/2007 dated 5.8.2008, the Election Commission of India has extended the last date of application of Claims and Objections by seven days i.e. up to 14.8.2008.
All EROs, AEROs, DO.s and BLO.s are to be informed immediately regarding this extension AND also about the mandatory quality checks mentioned in our no. 195(19)WBCE/08 dated 5.8.2008.

We have not yet received your No. 195(19)WBCE/08 dt. 5/8/08 regarding quality checks as alluded in this blog entry. May we get a mail copy of the same at our election mail ID?

Durgapur & Howrah: Commission has not indicated any other changes. So it seems that the last date of disposal of C&O and last date of publication (15.9.08) remain unchanged.

Now the period of filing claims & objections having been extended upto 14/8/08, there is chances of receiving error reports from both pol. parties & electors upto that period. Apart from mandatory checking of Elec. Parts we have sought for ATR from all EROs/AEROs on 4 pts.-
1) wrong merging of sections & suo motu action against those cases. 2)photo mismatch cases detected by ERO/ pointed out by electors/ pol. parties & action taken 3)other mistakes in front pages & corrective measures taken 4)No. & nature of complains recd. from pol. parties & manner in which those are attended to.
- Now as per discussion with DEO such report should be compiled & transmitted only after expiry of the period & after collecting rpt. from all corners., I solicit your instruction whether time for submission of such ATR can be extended upto 18/8/08.

Bankura: Since you're collecting these additional data, you are allowed to furnish the ATR by 18.8.08. Do, however, ensure that all errors detected are taken to their logical conclusion so that the FP rolls are correct.
