Trial SMS Information System - Feedback Please
For 3 days from 18.8.2008, a trial version of an SMS information system has been launched. I'd request all Election Managers to try this out and give feedback on errors or otherwise, before we launch it publicly:-
- Write out the EPIC Number in the message textABC1234567
- Send it to 94336-33333
You should get a return SMS showing the AC No & Name, Part No., Voter Sl No., Polling Booth Address.

Made SMS for 4 EPIC nos.of different series (WB/MQC/GYZ/MLN) in four ACs and found all information delivered through SMS are correct.I made a mistake intentionally to verify again and found the return as - "Error!Contact your ERO".
This is my observation and I must commend that it is a very nice use of Mob-tech.

I have tried with JDW2061034, GDD3067444 and GDD3067469 and in all cases "Error! Contact your ERO " was the reply though the names are in part no 209 of 236 Medinipur A.C.

My observation is same as Howrah & West Medinipur.Tried 3 diff. EPIC No. & got the same result.

I have sent 3 correct EPIC no. and 2 wrong no. from 2 ACs.For correct no.s I have got correct answers and found the search is not case sensitive.For wrong no.s got error report.

I sent six SMS containing EPIC No. of 277, Durgapur paschim Ac 278, Raniganj Ac (ljk2982015,ljk3973013,wb/37/255031,ljk2313515, lkk2316396, & mcb0551523) from 9434749920. But, in reply of each SMS "Error! contact your ERO" message received.

Made 8 SMS for 8 EPIC nos.of different series (WB/LCX/CQD/DRW) in three ACs including my EPIC and received all information through SMS are correct.This is a nice use of Mob-tech from where all Electors will be benefited.It will be useful to all ERos for inclusion & deletion of names.

I have sent a SMS to test a elector Part Number & Sl.No.of 285-Suri A.C.for EPIC No.KPY1975853 and no result found.I get a returned SMS showing "Error!contact your ERO".

I think, the reason is simple. The electoral data base of Durgapur, Bankura etc. are not fed in the search engine.
