- Handing over manuscripts against forms 6,7,8,8A by EROs to local WTL: By 28.8.2008
- Handing over checklists to EROs by local WTL Vendor: By 5.9.2008
- Return of Corrected Checklist to WTL Vendor by ERO: By 8.9.2008
- Handing Over Final Supplement (including Front Page) by WTL Vendor to ERO: By 12.9.2008
- Printing and Final Publication by ERO (Subject to Commission Approval): On 15.9.2008

Please clarify whether the vendor shall start data entry on and from 14.08.2008.
DM Nadia (Onkar): We've told WTL to set up units in subdivisions by 14.8.08. However, since 15th Aug is a holiday followed by Sat-Sunday, they've requested that 18.8.08 be allowed to them. I also think that since 14.8.08 is the last date of filing Claims & Objections, DOs should deposit their forms and corrected photo-roll by 16.8.08 and so data entry for corrections may actually start realistically from 18.8.08.
..However, since there has been no change in our written advice to them, you may prevail upon your local Data Entry Vendors to begin from 14.8.08 if you can feed data to them.

Sir,
I myself personnaly checked 8(eight) parts of different ACs at random. In each of the parts I found two to seven mistakes including some photo mismatches. We have already taken the programme of 100% checking of all the electoral rolls of the district as instructed. Fortunately till date we have not noticed any major problem as noticed by the DM Nadia.

Sir, Given the speed and the quality of work of the vendors at the Sub-division level, the Extension of date of final publiation has definitely been helpful. However clarification is sought as how the dates in between have been affected.

OC Election Darjeeling: Yes, I think you are right. We agree to extend the last date of handing manuscripts to 3.9.2008 (which earlier was 28.8.08). But there's a meeting with all ADM(E)s and OC(El/EVM)s on 4.9.08 at 12 noon at our office where I'll review progress. Also: pl bring report on disposal (Form 04) during the meeting.

Thank you sir for the reply.
We have been reviewing the progress of data entry in the subdivisions.however the same is not satisfactory.
1.Siliguri Subdivision has three ACs afte Delimitation However only two computers and two operators are being engaged by the vendor
2.the operator in Kurseong Sub-division is incompetent in handing the devanagiri script and software.He was engaged last year EPIC programme by the WTL for Laminating the Cards.
3.The operators in the subdivisions have no substitutes should he fall ill or need rest working day and night.
4.In kurseong Several corrections are being entered but not being saved due to reasons unknown(
5.In 24/222(new)part of 24 Ksg AC which was proposed and accepted by ECI as "Lower Toroyok Primary School" however the old name "Nehru primarty School" as appeared
6.In 24/230 a new segment was inclUded named "Bahattar Dhura" which however Has not appeared unlike the other proposals.
7.Although it was informed to us that small font entries can be corrected pertaining to top sheet entries,it is learnt that most items like subdivision,G.Ps,District,Municipality,Polling Station,Police station cannot be corrected as the same is already fed in software with wrong entries or wrong spelling.Surprising part is that the spelling of Darjeeling is spelt correctly in one entry and wrong in the other.
Given the sensitivity of the issue and our sincere endeavor in creating an error free roll, the same may kindly be seriously considered and looked into.
