Any overlapping polling areas?

We want to find out if there are any polling areas (ie area pertaining to a part/polling booth) that are not wholly confined within GP, ward, block, subdivision or district boundaries.

Normally, this should not happen. But we know of few exceptions.

Please locate such parts - if any - and send an AC-wise report soon.

Sir,
Suppose, a non image/ defective image elector turns up in the DPL & asks for some correction in text data particulars against some obvious mistakes, still remaining in the Roll like that in name/ relation/age/sex etc. ( it may be that the elector failed to take note of it on time from the draft roll). Now, will such cases be entertained after obtaining (001C + form 8) & form-8 being duly disposed of by the AERO, in order to prepare & deliver correct EPIC to them? Will it be possible to reflect those changes in the Roll, thereby updating the Roll database concurrently? This may be treated as correction during continuous updation. Otherwise, in the event of such corrections being disallowed, concerned elector may refuse to receive such defective EPICs, thereby resulting in accumulation of undelivered EPICs at Block Offices. Also that may lead to wastage of public money, unnecessarily.

I agree with your procedure. However, instead of merely depending on SLA for updating database, please also ensure that manual records of Form 8s allowed are kept properly and form part of the continuous updation manuscript...Also make sure that the defect originates from our end - or else (for example, for 'fancy' name spelling preferences) Rs 25 has to be collected.

Sir,
As new EROs are to be appointed for new delimited ACs, whether continuous updation can be done now.If it is done,in which AC one name will be included - in old or new one.

Yes, Diamond Harbour, continuous updation will go on wrt old ACs.

We shall have to maintain both sets of rolls and ACs till 2011 since all by-elections will continue to be based on existing ACs until the next general elections.

Besides, the formal Presidential notification of the date of effect of the Delimitation is yet to be recived from Govt of India.
