From 1.12.2007.
Yes, I know it's a bit distant - but there are constraints. Corrections in EPICs have to be reflected in the draft rolls to be published while with the draft publication, serial number of electors change due to integration of mother rolls with supplements. There is a further need for data centralisation and amalgamation among the districts' EPIC and roll databases.
So all corrections, duplications etc from first Dec 2007. PEC staff to be alerted accordingly.

Some queries, not pertinent to this Blog -- but relating to SRER-08 ------
1) Can the school teachers be appointed as Designated Officers? Practically, with the appointment of Booth Level Officers, not much Govt. staff are left apart to fill the post of Designated Officers.
Moreover the appointed Designated Officers (whoever he may be) will have to stay in the P.S. for nearly a month, without much work for most of the period, thereby creating idle man days whereas the teachers are best suited for this job, as the premises are the normal place of stay for them.
2) Will the same WTL Vendor, as are working in different AC s at present conduct the photography program during SRER-08?
3) It is necessary for the BDO s to chalk out another photo program between 08.02.2008 & 18.02.2008?
4) Is it necessary to send individual notices to all electors, whose names will be included in the Electoral Roll ?
Probably time will not permit such individual notice servicing.
5) Giving general publicity of the EPIC program schedule between 08.02.2008 & 18.02.2008, will not serve the purpose, as because the applicants will not know the status of their applications by that time i.e. whether the same has been accepted or not?
Necessary instruction is solicited.
6) Will the image mismatch cases be entertained during this photography program?

Oops! That's a long list of queries! But here are the brief responses:
1. Use of school teachers as DOs is not banned: but their use should be "minimised". Single-school teachers should not be touched.
2. Probably yes.
3. Yes. But at Block HQ level only.
4. No.
5. A list will be displayed at BDO office indicated names that have been accepted for inclusion. Apllicants to be advised during hearing that they can check up from the displayed list at block hqs.
6. Yes.
